Connecting the dots: VRIN Resources, Versatile Resources and Resources at hand at the BOP

At the end of an abductive case study approach, we question a recent reconceptualization of the Resource-Based View by exposing it to an emerging market: the "Base of the Pyramid".
A multi-level analysis of a community-based enterprise in rural Cambodia aligned with a recent iteration of the BOP literature reveals that the versatility logic of resources meshed with the resources at hand seem relevant for analyzing the growth of a firm in a BOP environment.
Our research also sheds some light on how VRIN resources (valuable when rare, inimitable, and non-substitutable), versatile resources, and resources at hand can be combined.
