While most studies on scandals traditionally perceive them as given facts involving solely the organization responsible for the transgression, this study recognizes their emergent and collective nature. Through the case of the Levothyrox scandal, we delves into the dynamics of the scandal process, illustrating how actors, through their practices, collectively contribute to its unfolding. On the one hand, we show that this process revolves around an oppositional relationship between the accused organization and the organization defending the victims. On the other hand, we show that this opposition unfolds in practice through different relational spaces (we called "arenas") made up of specific actors who are linked to each other. Our study unveils the multi-sectoral nature of scandals, wherein they unfold across distinct temporal and spatial dimensions. Furthermore, we illuminate how the practices specific to these diverse arenas are interlinked, highlighting the relational and sequential nature inherent in the evolution of scandals.
