Multi-stakeholder initiatives (MSIs) have become an important arena through which different actors can be included in making decisions on how to deal with Grand Challenges. MSIs range from small stakeholder collaborations that deal with local manifestations of Grand Challenges, to large cross-sector partnerships that tackle global issues - such as the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC), the Roundtable for Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO) or the Fair Labor Association (FLA). Our sub-theme aims at stimulating discussions on interpersonal, interorganizational and field-level conditions and dynamics that enable MSIs to achieve their objectives and contribute to addressing Grand Challenges.
All the best,
Angelika, Benjamin and François
