Workshop - pragmatism in/and management: new insights for new challenges - 01 Mars 2024

The classical pragmatis brings interesting new insights to different issues in management and organization studies. For example, Herbert Blumer appropriated Mead's thinking to develop the symbolic interactionist movement, which then becomes the unofficial theory of sensemaking (Weick, 1995, p. 4). Pierce's notion of semiotic mediation has been used to explore the methodological implications of non-representational approaches to organizational complexity (Lorino et al., 2011).

Therefore, IRG (Paris Est) and Confluence - Sciences and Humanities Research Center (Lyon Catholic University) is organizing a workshop, which aims to  providing an opportunity to engage in diverse thoughts and analyses of new challenges in management through the lens of pragmatist philosophy. The covered topics include sustainability, risk management, governance, control and leadership. It brings together scholars and PhD students from different institutions in France and overseas for a rich discussion on how these issues are from a pragmatist perspective.

The workshop does not invite submission, but is open to public participation. Academic scholars, PhD students, practitioners are all welcome to join - registration on the following link :
